Keynote Speaker: 17th Annual Progressive Officer’s Club Black History Luncheon
Excerpt: “The crisis in Black education is this year’s Black History Month theme but the ‘crisis’ is not new. It’s been a crisis for over 200 years when Blacks were whipped and lynched for learning to read and had to be escorted by the military to enter schools to learn. We can worry about what’s happening in Washington or get to work addressing the educational crisis down the street. We have always known about the ‘crisis.’ The question then and now is what are we going to do about it?”
